Jessie J. Hawkins

Jessie J. Hawkins, age 84, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at her home.

A viewing will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Hull & Hull Chapel. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at the Elks Lodge, 207 SW K Street, Grants Pass, Oregon. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.

The youngest of nine children, Jessie was born August 19, 1927 in Surgoinsville, Tennessee to James & Ollie Dickerson. In 1956 she moved to California and later worked for Hewlett-Packard until she retired in 1989. In 1989 she moved from Sunnyvale, California to Grants Pass.

Jessie was a member of Eastern Star and volunteered for RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) since 1991.

Her hobbies included gardening, golfing and fishing.

Survivors include her husband, Jack T. Hawkins of Grants Pass, Oregon; two sons, Edward Cox of Lathrop, California and Richard Lewis of Wicomico Church, Virginia; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was a son, David Cox.
