Jennifer Deanne Hodson

Jennifer Deanne Hodson, age 44, of Medford, died Monday, June 7, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. Jennifer entered heaven to be with her Lord and Savior after her 12-year fight with cancer.

Jennifer was born April 19, 1966 in Louisville, Kentucky. She grew up in Bakersfield, California. At Hume Lake Christian Camp, Jennifer met Gary Hodson, whom she married October 10, 1987 in Bakersfield. She attended business school and worked as a secretary. In 1997 she moved from Sacramento, California to Medford.

Jennifer was a very sweet and loving person who opened her home and heart to many people. She loved children and supported about 40 foster children. Together, Gary & Jennifer adopted four children and she enjoyed homeschooling them. She volunteered as a senior high youth leader for ten years; an Awana secretary for eight years; and also enjoyed women’s ministries.

Jennifer was a member of Community Bible Church in Central Point.

Her many hobbies included spending time with her children; wind surfing; sailing; music - playing the clarinet, piano, and guitar; camping; cooking; reading; Junior & Senior High Youth ministries; riding quads; and scrapbooking.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Hodson and four children, Nicole, Robert, Lacie, and Lewis all of Medford; her parents, Jim & Joan Harder of Oceano, California; and a sister-in-law, Carla Harder and a brother, Jeff Harder both of Des Moines, Washington.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin; her grandparents, Abe & Minnie Harder and Ernie & Marie Warkentin; and an aunt, Valorie Harrison.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Community Bible Church in Central Point. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to Gary Hodson to be set aside equally for her children’s college funds and kids scholarships for camps.
