Janice Maureen Eastin

Janice Maureen Eastin, age 57, of Merlin, died Monday, January 28, 2013 at her home.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Grants Pass Elks Lodge, 207 SW K Street. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Janice was born September 24, 1955 in Los Angeles, California to Murray & Lorraine Rita (Almond) Erens. In 1973 she graduated from Verdugo Hills High School in Sunland, California. In 2002 she moved from South Lake Tahoe, California to Grants Pass. She took college classes at Rogue Community College. She worked as a school bus driver with the Grants Pass School District #7.

Janice was a member of the Merlin Moose Lodge.

Her hobbies included horseback riding and was a Los Angeles Junior Champion in her younger years; gardening; swimming; street rods and muscle cars. She was a sun worshipper and loved her animals – two dogs, three cats, parrot, chickens, ducks, and geese.

Janice is survived by her parents, Murray & Lorraine Erens of Merlin, Oregon; a son, Gregory Eastin and his fianc, Lisa Johnson both of Grants Pass, Oregon; a daughter, Lori Eastin of Merlin, Oregon; two sisters, Barbara Thomson and husband Wayne of Markleeville, California and Mimi Bertrand of Gardnerville, Nevada; a brother, Richard Erens and wife Jeaneece of Central Point, Oregon; her grandson, Ian Eastin of Grants Pass, Oregon; aunt, Annie Elrod and husband Allen of Hobe Sound, Florida; uncle, Mike Almond and wife Merry of Vancouver, Washington; five cousins; and eight nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and an aunt.
