Jana L. Schultz

July 15, 1960 — January 6, 2018

Jana L. Schultz age 57

Born 7/15/60 departed this earth to be with her Heavenly Father 1/6/18. Jana was adopted as an infant by Louis & Anna May Schultz. She grew up and went to school in Grants Pass, graduating from Grants Pass High School in 1978. She attended University of Oregon & George Fox College post high school. She then went to Northwest College of Business where she learned and perfected keyboarding and data entry. After her class completion she worked for a Portland area insurance company for three years. It was during her time in Portland she began to have some vague health symptoms, those symptoms eventually were diagnosed as Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Jana returned to live in Grants Pass. She started working at local radio station KAJO. During that time she began to train to become a radio announcer. She worked several years as an announcer with KAJO. She retired from active work when her MS symptoms interfered. Jana enjoyed various crafts including card making and cross-stitch while her hands would allow. Jana enjoyed using her computer, corresponding with friends and family. She was active at her local church, Grace Bible Church. Jana enjoyed people. She made a positive impact wherever she went. She was known for her sweet spirit. While Jana is no longer with us she is very much alive. Our sadness can quickly turn to joy as we realize she is living in the spacious place without the physical encumbrances she endured here on earth.

Jana is survived by her sister, Malinda Wilson and husband Carl of Grants Pass and by brother Donald from Wasilla Alaska, two nephews; Nathan Schultz and J.L. Wilson along with one niece; Lora Wilson Goodenough. She was blessed to have several great nieces and nephews. Jana’s survivors also include her birth-siblings who she was able to locate in 2001, Dan, Karen and Karl Koklich. Finding her birth-siblings was a great joy for Jana; she loved getting to know more “family”.

Jana’s heart was tender towards several charitable organizations. If you’d like to give to Wounded Warriors, your local humane society, MS Foundation or your local church, Jana would be pleased. Jana was also served in her final months of earthly life by Providence Hospice. The family wishes to thank all the hospice workers for their compassionate care and watch over Jana during this tender time. Private Service have been arranged.
