James Thomas Mccue Sr.

James Thomas McCue Sr. 70 of Grants Pass died January 3, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loved ones.

A private service will be held by his family, on the banks of the Rogue River, in Galice, Oregon. He loved fly fishing for steelhead, and enjoyed telling stories of fishermen dropping their jaws while watching him place the steelhead back into the river after catching them. ' It was a sport for him, he would say, not dinner.'

James was born June 14th, 1944 in New York, to James and Edith McCue, he was the second eldest child. He moved to Oregon in his adolescent years to live with his maternal grandparents on their farm, in Junction City, Oregon .

After the passing of his mother in 1961, James moved to Los Angeles, where he met and married Mary Gulick in 1962 then as soon as possible, he packed up his family and moved to Grants Pass in 1971. James worked at Master Brand Cabinets for 37 years, only retiring after his health started failing him in 2010. In 1994 James had a kidney transplant that served him very well...Our family gives thanks to the young mans family, for the gift of 20 more years of life they gave Jim after losing their son.

Survivors include his Much loved wife of 11 years Jean A McCue of Grants Pass, Oregon, 2 sisters Loretta Fishel of Georgia, Maren Sweet of California. Three Children, James T McCue Jr. of Grants Pass, Oregon, LaDawn M. Wilhelm of Wilderville, Oregon , Robert L McCue of White City, Oregon, Seven Grandchildren, Mindi, Andrew, Rylan, Alisha, Latasha, Joseph, Brayden and one Great Grandson, Zane . Stepson Jason Woodward, As well as many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in Death by a brother Paul Vargas, his Second wife Sue McCue and three grandchildren Wyatt , Tegan and Taylor .
