James Bernard Veritch

August 23, 1931 — March 16, 2007

James Bernard Veritch, 75, of Grants Pass, died Friday, March 16, 2007 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor J.C. Holden officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Jim was born August 23, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York. From 1948 to 1951 he served in the United States Army. He lived in New York until 1959 when he moved to California where he worked as a tax accountant and small plane pilot. In 1990 he moved to Grants Pass 17 years ago. Together with his wife, Helen he owned and operated the Lighting Depot in Grants Pass for eight years. He also worked as a tax accountant in Oregon for 17 years and created AntlerLighting.com.

He attended Parkway Christian Center and Grants Pass Christian Singles.

He was a gun enthusiast and also enjoyed flying and traveling.

In addition to his wife, Helen of Grants Pass; he is survived by three sons, Jim of Grants Pass, Hap of Huntington Beach, California, and Patrick of Costa Mesa, California; four sisters, Ruth Kolmer of Stewart Beach, Florida, Madeline Reid of Cypress, California, Grace Paqua of Sun City, California, and Jane McLaughlin of Dix Hills, New York; and three grandchildren, Taylor, Riley and Hap Jesse.
