James (Jim) Andrew Mc Euen was born in Safford, Arizona on August 2,1936, the son of Vernon Perry Mc Euen and Beatrice Woods Mc Euen. He had two older brothers, Vernon and Larry.
Jim graduated from Excelsior High School in Norwalk, California with the class of 1955. Immediately after high school he entered the U.S. Air Force for basic training at Parks Air Force Base in the San Francisco area. After basic training he was assigned to Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas for technical training as an Aircraft and Engine Mechanic on aircraft with over two engines. During Christmas break of his training he married his high school sweetheart Audrey Irene Droney in Las Vegas, Nevada. After Tech School he and Audrey went to Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington. There they had a wonderful daughter named Cynthia (Cindy) Ann Mc Euen. He and Audrey divorced in 1964.
Jim was an avid Aircraft model builder of mainly World War II and post war ‘50s aircraft. These were in the era he grew up with. While in the Air Force he worked mostly on B-36’s and B-52’s.
After his discharge from the Air Force, Jim began working at Hughes Aircraft Co. in El Segundo, California as an apprentice manufacturing planner. After working his way through many positions at Hughes Aircraft he became the Head of Manufacturing Engineering for Missile Systems in Canoga Park, California. He married Janet Lois Addleman in 1968, who also worked at Hughes Aircraft, and gained two children, Thomas and Dana. Jim and Janet divorced in 1982. Jim retired in 1989 with 27 years at Hughes Aircraft.
In August 1989 he married Sarah (Sally) Ann Blanchard Faris, the true love of his life, on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA and he gained two more wonderful children, Michael and Janet.
Jim and Sally moved to Merlin, Oregon in 1995, a place he really loved. He and Sally then built their house in Merlin where they have lived happily ever since.
Sally joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2000, of which Jim had been a member since birth. He loved knowing the truth and where the meaning of life became more evident to them. Jim and Sally were married in the Medford Temple for time and all eternity in 2001.
Jim was elected to the board at the Merlin Park Association where he was nominated President. He served in that capacity for 4 years. He also served in many callings at his Church.
Jim passed in his home, with his wife Sally by his side, October 3, 2020, in Merlin, Oregon.
