Jack W. Innes, age 79, of Grants Pass, died Monday, June 16, 2014 at an adult foster home.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 27, 2014 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

Jack was born July 28, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan to George & Leola Innes. He was raised in Dearborn, Michigan along with his brother, James and sister, Lois. From 1954 to 1956 he served in the United States Army. After graduating from Michigan State University, he moved to Los Angeles, California. He then joined the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department where he would spend the next 28 years of his professional career and obtained the rank of lieutenant. During this time, he met his wife Ragnvi in 1970 and in 1972 had their son, Cameron. After his retirement in 1987, they moved from Agoura Hills, California to Grants Pass where he began working for the Josephine County Sheriff’s Department as captain of the reserves and emergency services coordinator for Josephine County. Upon his second retirement he became a man of leisure.

Jack was an avid reader, outdoorsman, hunter, and firearm enthusiast. He also enjoyed rafting and military history.

Survivors include a son, Cameron Innes of Grants Pass; a brother, James Innes and one grandchild.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Ragnvi Reidun Eckstrom; his parents George & Leola Innes and a sister, Lois.
