Jack E. Woods, age 72, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Blessed Hope Fellowship, 95 Ingles Lane, Wilderville, with Pastor Tony Russo officiating.

Jack was born on December 10, 1936 in Inglewood, California to Earl & Mary Woods. He grew up in Inglewood and graduated from Morningside High School where he was a football player. At age 14, he joined the United States Air Force Reserves until he was drafted into the United States Army at age 18 and served from 1957 to 1959. He owned and operated “Woods Ceramic Tile & Marble” for 50 years in Southern California and Grants Pass. He retired at age 68.

He was a member of Eagles, Elks, VFW, and the Gold Wing Touring Association (Chapter M).

Together with his wife he enjoyed bowling with the Senior Rollers League and Thursday Night Mixed League. His greatest passion was riding his Honda Gold Wing Trike.

Survivors include his wife, Harriet J. Woods of Grants Pass; a son, Dale Woods of Texas; two daughters, Corey “Cricket” Holbrook of Grants Pass and Gerie Sue Baldiga of Washington; two stepdaughters, Martha Harris of Eugene and Kathy Deleon of Eugene; two half-sisters, Melanie Benson of California and Judy Jeffery of Redmond; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
