Herbert "Herb" Ovendale

Herbert “Herb” Ovendale, age 78, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Laurel Hill Nursing Center.

A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2012 at North Grants Pass Kingdom Hall in Merlin. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Herb was born August 19, 1934 in Los Angeles, California to Raymond & Madeline Ovendale. In 1990 he moved from Temple City, California to Grants Pass.

His hobbies included religious activities, his ministry, cabinet work and photography.

Survivors include his wife Penny Ovendale of Grant Pass; a son, Brian Ovendale of Glendora, California; a daughter, Beth Wertz of Grants Pass; stepchildren, Donnae’ Felio of Canoga Park, California, Wendy LeGrant of Covina, California and Sean Hodge of Covina, California; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was a daughter, Linda Guzman; a stepdaughter, Jamie Leigh Tyree; a sister, Cheryl Rizutto, a brother Raymond Ovendale.
