Helen Harrington
November 10, 1922 ~ March 2, 2007

Helen was born in Heber, California on November 10, 1922 to Herbert and Gertrude Crumrine. She has a twin sister, and best friend, Hazel Testa who lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, and a brother, Bob who lives in Merlin, Oregon. Helen married Jack Harrington April 28, 1940. They celebrated 58 years of marriage before Jack passed away on December 3, 1998.

After Jack and Helen were married they settled in Long Beach, California where they raised their three daughters, Helen Marie, Bobbie, and Mary. Helen had a gift of compassion, caring and concern not only for her family, but for everyone that entered her life. She was always concerned about her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, always asking, - “Are they okay'” She was quick to offer her help in any way that she could with no hesitation in giving her solution to your problem!

Helen loved all animals, but especially adored her beloved companions, “Daisy” and “Barney.”

Helen created many beautiful things with her hands…she was a gifted seamstress, accomplished artist, painter, porcelain doll maker, and fabulous cook. One of her greatest joys was camping with her family. Her granddaughters describe her as Martha Stewart and Davy Crockett all rolled into one.

During the past few years, one of her great joys was going to Wednesday night Bible study to hear her grandson, Ron, teach. She gained great strength through her faith, especially during these past few years as her health declined. As her family gathered around her on her last day she asked several times, “What’s on the agenda today'” It is comforting to know that her agenda for today is spending eternity with her Lord.

Helen is survived by her children, Helen Marie Johnson, Bobbie & John Henry, and Mary & Sam Swanson; twin sister, Hazel Testa; brother, Bob Crumrine; grandchildren, Jimmy & Carole Lewis, Tracey & Steve Sullivan, Robin & Billy Ott, Bess Henry, Matt & Bernadette Henry, Ron & Heidi Swanson, and Kurt & Gayno Swanson; great-grandchildren, Justin & Niko Lewis, Shawn & Tyler Sullivan, Wesley Ott, Jeny & Jason Carpenter, Finnegan Henry, and Myke, Andy, & Ryan Swanson; and two great-great-grandchildren, Jeremy & Joshua Carpenter.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. Private interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
