Hazel Fay Staley

Hazel Fay Staley, age 93, of Grants Pass, died Monday, July 11, 2011 at Ashley Manor.

Private family services were held. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Hazel was born April 15, 1918 in Corvallis, Oregon. She graduated from Western Oregon University with a teaching degree in 1939 and taught school before moving to Grants Pass in 1959. In 1961 she received her bachelor’s degree from Southern Oregon University and taught in Grants Pass at Lincoln and Riverside Elementary schools until her retirement.

Hazel loved golfing, playing bridge, traveling and spending time with her PEO sisters.

Survivors include her two sons, Allan and Keith; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David A. Staley.
