Harvey Weston "Wes" Dean

Harvey Weston 'Wes' Dean, 83, of Grants Pass, died March 7, 2014, at his home.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 101 Lloyd Drive, Grants Pass, Oregon, with David McKinney conducting.

Harvey Weston Dean was born on January 11, 1931, in Fairview, Montana, the 2nd of 3 children. As a youth he lived in Klamath Falls and later relocated with his family to Northern California. Wes graduated from Richmond High School in the San Francisco Bay Area. He also lived in Southern California, but returned to the SF Bay Area where, in 1969, he married Elaine. They remained happily married for 45 years. Both Wes and Elaine moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1998.

Wes was a well-loved elder in his congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was a talented musician of the trumpet and played professionally in his own dance band. He enjoyed gardening, reading, spending time with his family and friends, and speaking to others about the Bible.

Wes is survived by his wife, Elaine Dean; daughter, Jennifer Walden; son, Roger Dean; 6 grandchildren, Tracey, Laurie, Larry, Stephanie, Melissa and Alisha; and 5 great grandchildren, Dylan, Ethan, Sarah, Ariana and Kaycen.
