Harry Anton Fischer

Harry Anton Fischer, age 85, of Williams, died Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Fair View Transitional Health Center.

A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

Harry was born August 30, 1922 in Windsor, California to Herman & Cora (Eckdahl) Fischer. He attended schools in Lake County and graduated from Clearlake High School. On November 20, 1949 in Upper Lake, California he married Shirley Booth. A mechanic by trade, Harry worked for Lake Chevrolet in Lakeport, California before owning and operating his own gas station and garage in Upper Lake. In 1959 he moved to Williams, Oregon where he worked as a mechanic as well as ran the ranch. He was then service manager for Wheeler Toyota for 25 years.

Harry was a member of B.P.O.Elks #1584, United Hunter’s Association, and 4-H Leaders Association. For many years he volunteered as a 4-H leader.

His hobbies included hunting, fishing, watching sports on television, and supporting his children and grandchildren in their sporting events.

Survivors include his children, Claudia Fowler and her husband Gene of Prospect, Harriet McIntosh and her husband Terry of Caldwell, Idaho, Pattiann Still and her husband Mark of Grants Pass, and Jerry Fischer and his wife Gail of Central Point; nine grandchildren, Steve Fowler of Central Point, Jeff Fowler of White City, Mike Fowler of Medford, Anna McIntosh of Caldwell, Idaho, Brad McIntosh of Caldwell, Idaho, Kecia, Lauren, and Adrianne Still all of Grants Pass, and Joshua Fischer of Central Point; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marion Rampone and her husband Remo of Ukiah, California.

In addition to his wife, Shirley Lois (Booth) Fischer; he was preceded in death by his parents, Herman & Cora (Eckdahl) Fischer.
