Harold W. Pruitt

Harold W. Pruitt, age 82, of Grants Pass, died April 19, 2018 at Laurel Hill Nursing Center.

Harold was born October 25, 1935 in Danville, Arkansas the youngest of eight children to Jonathan & Lela (Womack) Pruitt. After graduating from high school in Danville, he joined the United States Army and was stationed at For Ord and Fort Lewis. Harold married Exie “June” Lee on February 2, 1957 in Glendale, Oregon. Together they lived in Glendale for over 50 years and raised their two sons, Curtis and Greg. Harold worked for decades at the plywood mill in Glendale until his retirement. After retiring, he continued to work at A&M Transport for several years. Harold & June were married for 61 years and passed away ten days apart at Laurel Hill Nursing Center.

His hobbies included woodworking and gardening. He enjoyed kids that were always around the family home.

Survivors include two sons, Curtis Ray Pruitt of Tiller, Oregon and Greg Pruitt and wife Bridget of Grants Pass; grandsons, Joe, Brad, and Raymond; granddaughter, Ali; great-granddaughter, Lizzy; great-grandson, Collin; a sister, Jane Jones of Reedsport, Oregon; and a brother, Hayden Pruitt of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Otis Pruitt; and four sisters, Nell Martin, Mattie Zigler, Louise Turige and May Frost.

A graveside service for both Harold & June will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Glendale Memorial Cemetery in Glendale with Pastor Terry Bess officiating.
