Glenn Ray Fairchild

Glenn Ray Fairchild, age 95, of Prineville, died October 8, 2021 at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, Oregon.

Glenn was born in Grass Valley, Oregon on September 15, 1926, the fifth and last child of Glenn C. & Bessie Fairchild. He spent most of his life in Southern Oregon residing in Grants Pass, and moved to Prineville, Oregon in 2013 to be near his son.

Glenn left high school prior to graduation to serve in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. His cap and gown were placed in his graduation chair by his classmates at Prospect High School to honor him. After the war, Glenn was a long-haul truck driver, gas station owner, and finished his career working for the Oregon State Highway Department. Glenn loved hunting elk and deer and working hard. He also loved to fly, obtaining his pilot’s license and flying his own plane. He had a heart of gold and aspired to help everyone reach their highest potential.

Glenn was blessed with three children, Gloria (Mark) Edwards of Vancouver, Washington, Diana Fairchild of Spokane, Washington and Monte (Lana) Fairchild of Prineville, Oregon. Gloria preceded him in death in 2012. Glenn had eight grandchildren and was preceded in death by Greg Fairchild last month. Glenn is survived by 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12 Noon, October 18, 2021 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., October 18, 2021 at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens with Rev. Grant Francis (Glenn’s nephew) officiating.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a memorial fund set up on behalf of Glenn’s great-grandchildren, Tanner and Cailey Fairchild at any branch of Evergreen Federal Bank.
