Glen Chinn

Glen Chinn, 89, passed away at home in Grants Pass, Oregon, on May 11, 2020.

The youngest of four boys, he was born Dec. 31, 1930, in Arlington, California, to Olaf and Hallie Chinn. He received his Bachelor of Arts in 1955 from La Sierra College and Master of Arts from Loma Linda University in 1967. In 1957, he married Sandra Bauman and they had two sons. He had a 25-year career in probation in Riverside County, California.

In 1983, he moved to Days Creek, Oregon, to begin a new career as Boys' Dean at Milo Adventist Academy. He transitioned into the principal position at the academy in 1986. Glen and Sandra moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1989, where he served as the Associate Pastor of the Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist Church until 2010.

Always a lover of the outdoors, he rode his bicycle coast-to-coast across the United States at the age of 72.

Glen is survived by his wife, Sandra Chinn; son, Guy Chinn and wife, Sonya; and two grandsons, Nolan and Jesse Chinn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Olaf and Hallie; brothers, Joe, Ben and Fred; and his son, Mark.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in his honor to Holbrook Indian School or Eyes for India - It is Written.
