Giacomo Consiglio, age 84, of Rogue River, died Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center.

A viewing will be from 11:00 a.m. to 11:25 a.m., Thursday, January 6, 2011 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center Relief Society Room.

A funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, January 6, 2011 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Giacomo was born June 10, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan to Giacomo & Pietrina (Marino) Consiglio. From 1950 to 1952 he served in the United States Army. On April 12, 1974 in Paradise, California he married Helen Leigh Potts. He owned and operated and was chef at restaurants in Los Alamos, California and Lebanon, Talent, and Ashland, Oregon until his retirement in 1983. He then developed Roma Salad Dressing which he made and sold for 13 years at Growers Markets in Grants Pass, Medford, and Ashland retiring last year. He lived in Ashland, Talent, and Medford before settling in Rogue River in 1993.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Riverside Ward and previously Rogue River Branch.

Giacomo loved cooking, gardening, and rural living.

In addition to his wife, Helen L. Consiglio of Rogue River, Oregon; he is survived by a son, James Consiglio of Dayton, Nevada; a daughter, Trina Consiglio of Half Moon Bay, California; three sisters, Pietrina Pelione, Louisa Mannino, and Maria Dillard all of Michigan; a brother, Antonio Consiglio of Michigan; and two granddaughters, Rhiannon Solem of Temecula, California and Celestine Consiglio of Dayton, Nevada.
