Gerald Elliott

Gerald “Jerry” Elliott, age 83, of Grants Pass, died Friday, April 29, 2022 at his home.
On May 18, 1938 in Portland, Oregon, Jerry was born to Gordon Francis Elliott and Vivian Catherine (Murphy). He lived in Portland until the early 1960’s when he moved to Grants Pass. Jerry joined the National Guard Reserves and served six years. His careers included the Job Corps and the National Forest Service where he worked as an office specialist for over 30 years until his retirement in 1990.
Jerry was a devout Catholic and enjoyed his membership in the St. Anne Catholic Church. He made spending Christmas with his cousin, Kathleen, an annual tradition. In addition to volunteering in many community charities, Jerry enjoyed domestic and international travel, attending county fairs, reading, genealogy, and working on his family tree.
Having been born an only child, Jerry was especially close to his cousin, Kathleen Powell of Portland; cousins Jim Powell of Depoe Bay, Oregon and George Aulbach of Portland; and relatives in Minnesota.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2022 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Father Stephen Kenyon officiating.
A committal service and burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
