Faye Juanita Miller

Faye Juanita Miller, age 87, of Wilderville, died Monday, June 22, 2009 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center.

A visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2009 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.

Faye was born May 24, 1922 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Fred & Juanita Brown. When Pearl Harbor was attacked, Faye worked at the United States Naval Shipyard in Pearl Harbor. She also worked as a dietician at the University of Hawaii prior to June 1947 when she married her husband Clarke Ronald Miller, who served in the United States Army. From Hawaii, they moved to Arizona, Vancouver, Washington, and later to Grants Pass. In 1963 they moved to Wilderville.

She was an avid supporter of many charitable and community support organizations, including March of Dimes and Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Faye loved cooking and enjoyed trying new recipes.

Survivors include a daughter, Noilani McCain of Southern Oregon; two sons, Clarke P. Miller of Selma and Warren E. Miller of Portland; a brother, Willard Brown of Kaneohe, Hawaii; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarke Ronald Miller in 1988; two sons, Lyle B. Miller in 1974 and Dale M. Humberd in 2000; and a grandson, Fred Lyle Miller in 1969.
