Fama Plouffe

Fama M. Hogue Neil Hanville Plouffe, age 93, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at her home.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Hull & Hull Chapel. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Fama was born November 28, 1916 in Loveland, Colorado to Guy & Dorothy Powers. As a teenager she moved from Loveland to the Missouri Flat area. In 1935 in Murphy she married Clement Hogue and they moved to Selma. After their divorce in 1938 she married Homer Shelly in Drain, Oregon. For three years Fama lived in Eugene and Portland and while in Portland she worked as a pastry chef. After her divorce from Homer Shelly she remarried Clement Hogue in 1947 and moved to Fairbanks, Alaska where she lived until 1956 when she was divorced from Mr. Hogue and moved to Grants Pass. Fama lived on the Oregon Coast for three years where she then married Jimmy Neil. After living in Klamath Falls for a time, Mr. Neil died. She later married John Plouffe in Klamath Falls. After retirement in 2006 they moved to Grants Pass and he preceded her in death.

Fama was a member of Order of Eastern Star Midnight Chapter of Fairbanks, Alaska; a charter member of the Elkettes; and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women’s Auxiliary both in Klamath Falls.

Her hobbies included playing the organ, bowling, fishing, camping, and sewing.

Survivors include a son, Jim Hogue of Grants Pass; a sister, Thelma McCallister of Grants Pass, Oregon; eight grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
