Eva Beryl Valladao

February 13, 1928 — November 29, 2008

Eva Beryl Valladao, 80, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2008at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Marvin Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

She was born on February 13, 1928 in Milliken, Colorado and grew up in Colorado. The family moved to Downey, California and she graduated from Downey Union High School. During summer vacations, she worked as “Rosie the Riveter” building airplane cowlings. She graduated from the University of California at San Jose and received her bachelor’s degree from Chico State and her master’s degree in nursing from the University of California at Sacramento. She worked as a registered nurse at Fairfield Suisun Unified School District and retired at 20 years of school nursing. She married Joseph Anthony Valladao in June of 1960 and he preceded her in death on October 27, 2008. In 1974 she went to work for the Josephine County Health Department as a Public Health Nurse and retired in 1990.

She was a member of the Grants Pass Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She enjoyed golfing, arts and crafts and working on the church newsletter.

Survivors include her son John E. Valladao of Grants Pass; her sister, Jo Neal of San Luis Obispo, California; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Valladao in 2003 and her son, Dennis Valladao in 2001.
