Eugene Stanley "Gene" Clark

June 14, 1930 — April 13, 2012

Eugene Stanley Clark, age 81, of Grants Pass, died Friday, April 13, 2012, at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

No services are planned. Scattering of his cremated remains will take place at a later date. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Gene was born on June 14, 1930 in Polson, Montana to William and Hedvig Clark. He grew up in Burke, Idaho and attended Mount Angel Seminary High School in Mount Angel, Oregon. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from University of Idaho. He worked as an accountant in Kellogg, Idaho until 1973 when he moved to Anchorage, Alaska. He worked as Vice President of Enstar Natural Gas Company until his retirement in 1988, when he moved to Grants Pass. In Grants Pass, he worked for many years as a part-time business counselor at the Small Business Development Center and also taught Business Math at Rogue Community College.

His hobbies included reading, collecting books on the subjects of mining history and labor history, collecting antique blowtorches and farm equipment, working in his workshop and garden, and taking long walks. He loved animals and enjoyed spending time with his beloved cat Kiki.

Survivors include two daughters, J.J. Clark of Springfield, Oregon and Gail Clark of San Francisco, California; four stepdaughters, Debbie Gambill of Spokane, Washington, Brenda Clark of Spokane Valley, Washington, Kathy Elgiadi of Spokane, Washington, and Tami Craft of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his brother Bill Reeves of Houston, Texas and his sister Ethel McKinnon of Eugene, Oregon; and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Marie Clark on February 20, 2010.
