Emma Bell Price

Former Selma and Grants Pass resident, Emma Bell Price, age 90, of Bryant, Arkansas, died Monday, May 9, 2011 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2011 at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens with Pastor Ron Marsh officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Emma was born July 20, 1920 in Kiowa County, Oklahoma to Lloyd & Minnie Gilbert. On April 2, 1939 in Hobart, Oklahoma she married Raymond H. Price and in 1940 moved to Selma, Oregon. In 1957 she moved to Southern California where she worked as a seamstress and lived until 1975 when she returned to Selma. She then resided in Grants Pass from 1984 to 2004 when she moved back to Southern California to be closer to family. She was currently living in Bryant, Arkansas near her son. During her years in Southern Oregon she worked as a waitress and for Turk Bulb Farms.

Emma especially enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include a daughter, Jean Yandell of Las Vegas, Nevada; a son, Wayne Price of Bryant, Arkansas; five sisters, Ruby Martin of Fresno, California and Georgie Rhodes of Monahans, Texas; Ollie Brodersen of Eloy, Arizona, Lola Sizemore of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Eula Cox of Grants Pass, Oregon; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Price on April 29, 1984; a daughter, Peggy Reid; and two great-grandsons.
