Ellen L. Winner, age 84, of Grants Pass, passed away at Fair View Transitional Health Center on February 21, 2013.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Richard. They retired in the Grants Pass area from Diamond Bar, California in 1991. They were married on July 2, 1950 in Lebanon, Indiana.

Other survivors include daughters Gale McKinley of Grants Pass, Oregon, Linda Wood of Santa Fe, New Mexico, sons Gregory of Orange, California, Jeffory of Portland, Oregon and Kenneth of Sonora, California and brother James Ebbinghaus of Barrington, Illinois. Ellen also leaves five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ellen was preceded in death by son Gary and brother Richard.

Ellen was born in Bicknell, Indiana on December 20, 1928 to parents Lee Ota and Hubert Ebbinghaus. She graduated from Dover High School, in Dover, Indiana in 1946 and went on to obtain a BA in home economics from Purdue University in 1950. Once the children were old enough to care for themselves, Ellen worked as a bank officer for Bank of America for over 15 years before retiring in 1991.

Ellen enjoyed reading, traveling the world and cruises and baking grandma bread for the holidays.

Hull and Hull Funeral Directors is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held at Hull & Hull Chapel on Thursday, February 28, 2013 between 3:30 pm and 6:30 pm and Friday, March 1, 2013 between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm . A burial service will follow at the Eagle Point National Cemetery at 2:00 pm, March 1, 2013. A reception for family and close friends will follow at Wild River Brewing & Pizza Co. in Grants Pass.
