Elizabeth "Betty" Pearl Ransom

June 26, 1930 — June 12, 2006

Elizabeth “Betty” Pearl Ransom, age 75, of Grants Pass, Oregon died Monday, June 12, 2006 at her home at Oak Lane Retirement.

No services are planned. Southern Oregon Cremation Services of Grants Pass are in charge of arrangements.

Betty was born June 26, 1930 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. In 1947 she graduated from Sweet Home High School. She was a manager at the Bridge Bakery in Newport, Oregon, and later worked at JC Penney’s in Newport, as well as in California and Arizona as a merchandiser.

Her hobbies included gardening, reading, game shows, painting, poetry, embroidery, and crocheting.

Her first husband was Wayne Gerard with whom she had two children, Diana and Monte. After the death of her second husband Louis Edgar Brumbaugh, Sr., with whom she had three children, Louis, Elizabeth and Viola “Krystee,” she married Frank Ransom of Toledo, Oregon. In the 1970’s she survived a bout with cancer. In 1995, Betty and Frank moved to Grants Pass and she lived there with him until her death.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years Frank Ransom; daughter Diana Corson of Albany, OR, son Monte Gerard of Albany, OR, son Louis Brumbaugh, Jr. of Dundee, OR, daughter Elizabeth Turk of Portland, OR, daughter Viola “Krystee” Brumbaugh of Cave Junction, OR, step-son Frank Ransom, Jr., of Newport, OR; her sister Ida Dysert of Grants Pass, OR and brother Chet Bradshaw of Sutherlin, OR. Betty also had 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
