Elaine Lorena Stedman passed into glory on December 2, 2022, in the care of her family, Asante hospice, and the staff at Bartlett House where she resided the past three years. She lived for Christ and serving others. A loving wife, mom, gramma, great-gramma, and auntie; a constant prayer warrior, and your biggest fan. Her cheerful listening heart and encouragement touched the lives of all who knew her. She bloomed wherever she was planted.

Elaine was born in El Cerrito, CA August 17, 1922 and grew up in Great Falls, Montana where, after high school, she met and married her husband of 47 years, Ray C. Stedman. Ray pastored Peninsula Bible Church in Palo Alto, CA for 40 years, and together they served the Lord in many capacities - teaching, writing, counseling, and ministering to people’s needs all their lives. Ray retired in 1990 and they moved to their river house in Grants Pass to write and spend more time with family. Ray was called home in 1992. Elaine is survived by daughters Sheila Brekke (Brian), Susan Stedman (Michael Slavenski), Linda Stedman Teshima, and Laurie Higuera (Doug), 11 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The sweet fragrance of her life will linger in our hearts forever. A graveside service to be held for family in Grants Pass. A Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
