Edwin Frank Sunyich

Edwin Frank Sunyich, age 92, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at his home.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 7, 2008 at Eagle Point National Cemetery with Michael Friend conducting. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

He was born October 17, 1915 in Los Angeles, California to immigrant Parents, Barisa & Mary Sunyich. During World War II he served in the military in the 441st Counter Intelligence. Ed married Maxine Grey and they had a child, Louise. Maxine preceded him in death. On May 1, 1943 Ed Married Verna Isabelle Kelley and they had two sons, William and Steven. Verna preceded him in death in 1998. He owned and operated Sunco Equipment Company in California. In 1971 he moved from Downey, California to Grants Pass. In 2001 he moved to Harbor and in 2007 returned to Grants Pass. Ed married Lois Clarke Kubli.

He was a member of B.P.O.Elks #1584.

His hobbies included golfing, bowling, fishing, and construction.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Kubli Sunyich of Grants Pass; two sons, William Edwin Sunyich of Grants Pass and Steven Leon Sunyich of St. George, Utah; a daughter, Louise Mary Doherty of Houston, Texas; a brother, Sven Sunyich of Bellflower, California; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Eva Held; and two brothers, Lou Sunyich and Leo Sunyich.
