Edward J. Splean

Edward J. Splean, age 84, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at his home.

A memorial mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 21, 2010 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Father William Holtzinger officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, 31 W 6th Street, Medford, Oregon 97501.

Edward was born April 26, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri to William & Margaret Splean. He moved with his family to California where he graduated from high school in Redondo Beach. In 1943 he enlisted in the United States Army and served in World War II until his discharge in 1945. On November 24, 1948 in St. Louis he married Mary Elizabeth Mudd. From 1950 to 1951 he served in the Korean War. He moved to California in 1961 and for 21 years worked for CPR in Torrance. In 1988 he moved from Lawndale, California to Grants Pass.

His hobbies included golfing, photography, fishing, and traveling.

In addition to his wife, Mary Splean of Grants Pass; he is survived by a son, Steven Splean of Grants Pass; and six nieces and nephews.
