Edgar "Eddie" Jenkins Jr.

Edgar “Eddie” Jenkins, Jr., age 88, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at his home.

No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Eddie was born August 1, 1923 in Princeton, Indiana. He was the youngest of nine children. In 1933 he moved to California and at age 19, he went to work as an apprentice plumber for M & S Plumbing in the San Fernando Valley for 33 years. On February 1, 1975 in Reseda, California he married Marjorie “Deon” Patrick. In 1975 he moved from California to Cave Junction, Oregon where he and his son Richard opened E & R Plumbing that same year. In 1993 he retired from the plumbing business. He lived in Cave Junction until 2001 when he and his wife moved to White City to live with their daughter for health reasons.

Eddie was a member of Illinois Valley Senior Citizens, Illinois Valley Booster Club, and lifetime member of the Southern California Pipe Trades Union Local 761.

Survivors include a son, Daniel Jenkins of Mesa, Arizona; a daughter, Sharon Matye of Kernville, California; three stepdaughters, Penny Trout of White City, Oregon, Pat Storgaard of Gold Hill, Oregon and Carol Haun of Chatsworth, California; three stepsons, Richard Hackstock of Ashland, Oregon, Michael Haun of Richland, Washington and Christopher Haun of Los Angeles, California; 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Marjorie “Deon” Jenkins in 2007; a stepdaughter, Betty Williams; a grandchild; and eight siblings.
