Ed Hook

Ed Hook, age 69, of Wimer, died Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

Ed was born May 27, 1942 in Compton, California to Ralph & Virginia Hook. He served in the United States Navy and after his honorable discharge moved from Southern California to Wimer in 1964. He lived in Wimer for several years before returning to Southern California where he married and had two children. He then moved his family to Wimer, had two more children and stayed there. On March 24, 1984 in Reno, Nevada he married Sharon Arguello. Ed worked at Josephine General Hospital, then Josephine Memorial Hospital, and now Three Rivers Community Hospital where he retired as an engineer in 2004.

Ed was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Rogue River.

He especially enjoyed reading, driving back roads of the Rogue Valley, and watching critters in his yard.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Hook of Wimer, Oregon; four daughters, Chris Couch of Orting, Washington, Debbi Hamelin of Merlin, Oregon, Heather Wood of Boise, Idaho, and Sherry Shinmoto of Aiea, Hawaii; a son, Dan Hook of Orting, Washington; an uncle, David Westfall of Wimer, Oregon; an aunt, Pauline Taylor of Wimer, Oregon; and 17 grandchildren.

Family services will be held. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
