Earl Randolph Wilson

Earl Randolph Wilson, age 98, of Eagle Point, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Rogue Regional Medical Center.

No services are planned. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Earl was born March 3, 1915 in Berlin, Oklahoma to David Edgar Wilson & Maude Lillie Gammill Wilson. He spent his early years in Oklahoma and Arkansas before heading west and settling in California. On April 23, 1941 in Reno, Nevada he married Mildred Malone who preceded him in death in 1985. Earl worked as a carpenter on various projects such as the Boulder Dam and Shasta Dam. In 1945 he moved to Grants Pass where he worked as a carpenter and grew hops before building and owning his first laundromat in Grants Pass in 1964. Earl used his carpentry skills and helped build boats for the first three Boatnik races that his son, Dave raced in. He also was a part of the pit crew for his sons’ motorcycle races. In 1972 he moved to Eagle Point.

Earl enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed tying his own flies.

Survivors include three sons, Dave and wife Kathie of Grants Pass, Oregon, Ron and wife Sharon of Brookings, Oregon and Mike and wife Noranne of Grants Pass, Oregon; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters; and a great-great-grandchild.
