Douglas Dean Witt Jr.

Douglas Dean Witt Jr. born March 6th, 1958, in Medford, OR. Passed Friday, September 10th, 2021.

He spent his early child years in Medford, OR. The family later moved to Clackamas, OR in 1969, where he eventually attended Clackamas High School. A natural athlete, he enjoyed baseball and Gymnastics, competing in all events. After graduating he entered the Sheet Metal business with his father and attended apprenticeship school.

He married his wife Diane on March 27th, 1982, and grew their family of 4 children, spending the first 15 years in Milwaukie, OR.

In 1996 the family moved to Grants Pass, OR to relocate the Sheet Metal business with his father until 2006, when Doug Sr. was too ill to continue. Doug went on to work for Lawless Roofing as their Superintendent. He loved his job and the people he worked with. In his free time, he enjoyed family, social gatherings, BBQ, camping, and fishing. Doug was known for his hospitality.

He was involved with youth ministry for over 20 years and loved the Lord. Family was so important to him, and he dearly loved his children and grandchildren. Doug was lovingly referred to by many as Papa Witt, which made his heart melt.

He leaves behind his wife, Diane of 39 years, and was a wonderful father to his daughter, Sara, and 3 sons, Justin, (Partner, Amanda Strysick), Matthew (Wife, August Witt), Neil (Wife, Hannah Witt) all residing in Grants Pass, OR. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Brenden, Gavin, Avery, and Mackenzie. He had 4 sisters Ravae Black (deceased, married to Jim Black), Beverly Witt residing in Beaverton OR, Bernice Burrell (married to Jeff Burrell) residing in Springfield OR, and Susan Chargin (married to Mark Chargin) residing in Newberg, OR. and one brother Robert Witt residing in Newberg, OR. Mother Jane Witt residing in Newberg, OR.

A celebration of life at Edgewater Christian Fellowship is set for Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Daron Williams officiating.

Remembrances may be made to Joe's Place Ministries through Edgewater Christian Fellowship.
