Dorothy Staton

Dorothy Staton, age 80, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Black Oak Adult Foster Care.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors with Pastor Jerry Gillock officiating.

Dorothy was born October 8, 1932 in Montrose, Arkansas to Albert S. Horton & Viola Dora (Joiner) Horton. In 1951 she married Alva Lee “Al” Staton, who preceded her in death. She has been a continuous resident of the Rogue Valley since moving her in 1964. She was a homemaker and store clerk and especially enjoyed working with children as a nanny.

Dorothy was a member of Valley Rogue Christian Center in Rogue River and enjoyed reading, attending church, tending to her flowers, strong coffee and the daily crossword puzzle.

Survivors include two sons, Alan Staton of Albuquerque, New Mexico and David Staton of Eugene, Oregon.
