Dorothy Marie Dunbar Duke

Dorothy Marie Dunbar Duke, age 72, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at her home.

A Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Newman United Methodist Church with Reverend Melissa Harkness Haugen officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy was born June 11, 1936 in River Falls, Wisconsin to Harold & Thelma Dunbar. She was raised in Minnesota and graduated in 1954 from Harding High School in St. Paul, Minnesota. At age 29, she moved to Washington and lived there for 23 years. On July 8, 1990 in Seattle, Washington she married Raymond Duke. For 19 years, while living in Seattle, she worked as a microfilm technician for several companies. She moved back to Minnesota for one year, then returned to Grants Pass where she has lived for a total of 19 years.

She attended Bothell United Methodist Church in Bothell, Washington and locally she attended Newman United Methodist Church where she taught as a Sunday school teacher. She was also a swimming instructor and a member of the Moose Lodge of Merlin.

Her hobbies included gardening, sewing and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Duke of Grants Pass; two daughters, Delia Cooper of Cashmere, Washington and Liz Frare of Waterville, Washington; two sons, Joseph Radeck of Pocatello, Idaho and Richard Radeck of Waterville, Washington; a sister, Audrey Krenz of Minnesota and two brothers, Wayne Dunbar of Minnesota and Glen Dunbar of Pennsylvania and seven grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was a son, Daniel Radeck in 2008.
