Dorothy Cole

Dorothy Cole, age 87, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

No services are planned. Southern Oregon Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy was born September 6, 1919 in Hollywood, Washington and was raised in King County. On August 13, 1947 in Hoquiam, Washington she married Paul R. Cole, who preceded her in death. During World War II she was a Rosie the Riviter working in the shipyards in the Seattle/Everett area. After the war, she was a seamstress at Jantzen Knitting Mills in Vancouver, Washington. She lived in Anaheim and Orange, California for 28 years before retiring and moving to Grants Pass in 1988.

Dorothy was a member of a Dune Buggy Club in California.

She especially enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing, and playing bingo.

Survivors include a daughter, Penelope Clark of Grants Pass; a sister, Lucille Rand of Maple Valley, Washington; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
