Dorothy Ann Heinlein

March 31, 1930 — May 21, 2020

Dorothy Ann Heinlein was born March 31, 1930 to William & Harriet Flaming in Clinton, Oklahoma. She married Marion D. King in 1947 and they had three daughters. She was a wife, homemaker, Avon salesperson and restaurant owner. After she was widowed at a young age, she married Billy B. Heinlein on June 9, 1959 and they added a son to the family. She and Bill had a successful real estate business together before retiring to a motel business, and then a beautiful ranch in Montana where they raised animals but mostly enjoyed grandchildren and entertained friends and family. Finally, they lived in a cabin on the lake in Montana. For their final years they moved back to Grants Pass. Bill passed in 2013.

Dorothy enjoyed good friends, new and old, right up to her passing. She was an active member of St. Anne Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Marion King and her second husband, Bill Heinlein and her sister, Jeanie Vandewarker.

She is survived by her brothers William F. Flaming of Grants Pass and Donald W. Flaming of Tacoma, Washington; and her children Judy Jacoby (Harold) of Grants Pass, Debra Cernick (Stewart) of Libby, Montana, Marion Milstead of Grants Pass, and John Heinlein (Sandra) of Libby, Montana.

She is remembered with love by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

No ceremony or memorial is planned at this time.
