Donald W. Lauber

Donald Willis Lauber, age 93, of Grants Pass, died October 29, 2021 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.

Don was born October 28, 1928 in Tofield, Alberta, Canada. In 1943 he moved to Oregon and in 1951 he married and had five children. In 1962 he moved from Canby to Grants Pass where he was co-owner of Dick & Don’s Tires.

Don was a member of Parkway Christian Center since 1992, where his ministry was focused in leading a Care Group in both music and Bible study.

For 15 years he was a part of Gospel Open Door, a southern gospel singing group, who ministered in song and teaching, at the Gospel Rescue Mission (where he also served on the original Board), the Medford Mission, as well as years at Oak Lane and Highland House.

His hobbies included playing guitar, gardening, and reading.

Don is survived by his wife of 29 years, Hope Lauber of Grants Pass; five children: Ed Lauber of Grants Pass, Dennis Lauber of McMinnville, Doug Lauber of Grants Pass, Valerie Terrall of Portland and Janice Ward of Grants Pass; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Wideman Lauber and his father Daniel Lauber, and his brother Richard Lauber.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., December 4, 2021 at Parkway Christian Center -Fellowship Hall. Private interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Remembrances may be made to the Gospel Rescue Mission.
