Donald Charles Logsdon

April 7, 1932 — March 17, 2011

Donald Charles Logsdon, (better known as Grandpa from Grandma’s Kitchen) age 78, of Grants Pass, passed away March 17, 2011. Son of Charles and Marion Logsdon, he was born April 7, 1932 in San Francisco, California. His youth was spent in the San Francisco area, where he graduated from Diablo Valley High School, Concord, California. A veteran, Don served in the United States Navy from 1949-1953. Dedicated to the work of Christ, he served in the 1960’s as a missionary in the Islands of the Bahamas for the Church of Christ. For the majority of Don’s professional life he worked for the Superior Courts in Alameda and Kern County for the state of California.

Upon moving to Oregon in 1972, he served as the Tax Collector for Josephine County. Don was a member of the West Main Church of Christ in Medford, and VFW Post #1833. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; brothers, Kenneth and Joe; sister, Kristin; children Anthony, Paul and Brooke; step-children, Roxie, Teresa, and Jack; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. His son, Donn, preceded him in death in 2008.

He is remembered by his friends and family as a craftsman with a special interest in woodworking. His love of laughter and his ability to find humor in all aspects of life will be greatly missed. Memorials in his name may be sent to West Main Church of Christ for the missions in the Bahamas, 1701 W. Main Street, Medford, Oregon 97501.
