Dolores "Dee" Swanson

Dolores “Dee” Swanson passed away on March 13th at the age of 87.

Dee was born March 9,1931 in Green River Wyoming. Her father, Harold Johnson was a carpenter working at large construction projects all over the U.S. and they were just passing through.

She lived most of her childhood in Eugene Oregon where she graduated from University High School. She met her husband Dean there and they were married in June 1951. They moved to Glendale later that year where Dean and his brothers owned and operated Superior Lumber Co (Swanson Group Inc.).

Dean and Dee moved to Grants Pass in 1991. She attended Calvary Lutheran Church. She loved to play golf, ceramics, gardening, knitting and sewing and being with family. Her husband Dean preceded her in death.

She is survived by four children, daughter Linda and her husband Tim Rondeau of Roseburg, Steve and Debra Swanson and Larry and Dawn Swanson of Grants Pass and David and Martha Swanson of West Linn, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was loved by all!

A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 16, 2018 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Grants Pass. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.
