David Anthony Romero

David Anthony Romero, age 45, of Grants Pass, died September 13, 2017 as the result of an automobile accident.

David was born November 17, 1971 in Ventura, California to Joseph & Sandra (McDonald) Romero. He attended El Camino Real High School in Canoga Park, California and moved to Grants Pass in 1988. Together with his brother, Tim, David started as a firefighter with Valley Fire Service in 1990, first as part of the hand crew and later as crew and engine boss. He currently worked with Bratcher Fire Service as crew boss. David was passionate about wildland firefighting.

David loved his boys more than anything in the world. He enjoyed playing baseball and coached baseball teams for his children. He was a huge Green Bay Packers fan. David also enjoyed fishing, sports, cooking, and gaming. He was known for his jokes and sense of humor.

Survivors include three sons, Akona Romero, Kekoa Romero and Kai Romero all of Grants Pass; his mother and stepfather, Sandra & John Jansen both of Selma; two sisters, Robin Keener of Grants Pass and Veronica Thurman of Williams; two brothers, Tim Romero and Randy Romero both of Grants Pass; maternal grandmother, Bertha McDonald of Grants Pass; and his former spouse and great friend, Wanda Romero of Grants Pass.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph David Romero in 2012.

He was an amazing father, friend, brother, and son.

A celebration of life will be held at Indian Mary Park at the playground pavilion on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 1:00 pm.

A memorial fund has been set up at Rogue Federal Credit Union.
