Darlene May Braunberger Haugen

Darlene May Braunberger Haugen, age 64, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at her home.

Darlene was born May 15, 1949 in Salem, Oregon to Willard “Bill” & Poppy Braunberger. In 1962 she moved to the Rogue Valley and in 1967 graduated from Rogue River High School. In 1970 she moved to Grants Pass. She received an Associate’s degree from Southern Oregon College and worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She dedicated herself to the care of others. Friends and family knew her to always put the care, comfort and needs of others first. Darlene’s devotion, love and generosity to family were known to all.

Darlene was a member of Josephine County Search & Rescue.

Darlene was always an avid outdoor enthusiast. She enjoyed and owned horses. Her hobbies were many and varied including hiking, fishing, hunting, boating, cake decorating, sewing, knitting, cooking and handicrafts.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin Heath Haugen and wife Zenita and Travis James Haugen and wife Christa; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Gloria Braunberger Christensen and husband Jack; a brother, David Braunberger and wife Nancy; seven nieces and nephews; and a very large extended family in England.

Darlene will be remembered, missed and loved by those who were fortunate enough to know such a generous, loving, and thoughtful lady who truly enjoyed life. She will always be in the hearts of both her English and American families.
