Darlene E. "Dar" Edwards

Darlene E. “Dar” Edwards, age 75, of Rogue River, died Thursday, December 19, 2013 at her home.

A celebration of life will be in early 2014. Southern Oregon Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.

Dar was born June 12, 1938 in Petaluma, California. She graduated from Napa High School; attended Napa Junior College; University of California, Davis and University of California, Berkeley where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. In 1976 she moved from Napa, California to Rogue River. She was a realtor for Mel Atkins Realty and achieved top salesperson status. She then opened a health and dance studio in Rogue River which she operated for a few years. At age 50, she got her truck driving license and drove truck in all 48 states for several years. In 1990 she opened Creekside Pub in Rogue River and continued to operate until health issues forced her to sell in 2008.

Dar enjoyed garage sales, crafts, and gardening.

Survivors include a son, Mark Gill of Pennsylvania; five daughters, Barbara Kalist and husband Kenny of Rogue River, Oregon, Patti Slamon of Pensacola, Florida, Lori Carnley and husband Donald of Pensacola, Florida, Samantha Baglio of Rogue River, Oregon and Shannon Christiansen and husband Owen of Gold Hill, Oregon; two sisters, Taffy Donalson and husband Richard of Canby, Oregon and Petie Burke of Silverton, Oregon; a brother, Ed Burke and wife Shirley of Los Gatos, California; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many loved friends.
