Dan Fiske DVM, age 50, of Cave Junction, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 in Cave Junction.

A viewing will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Illinois Valley Funeral Directors.

A celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center in Grants Pass with Bishop Gary Lathen officiating. Private interment will be at Wilderville Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Dan was born April 17, 1963 in Whittier, California to Ronald & Myrna (Slight) Fiske. Becoming a veterinarian was his lifelong goal and at the age of 15 he started working at an animal hospital and never stopped. He graduated from University of California Davis with a degree in veterinary medicine. As a veterinarian he established Crossroads Animal Hospital in Cave Junction in April 1997.

Dan served on the Cave Junction City Council; was active with Boy Scouts of America; and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving a church mission from 1984 to 1985 in Washington State.

Dan especially enjoyed family activities with his children and was currently taking piano lessons with his daughter even playing in recitals together. He loved all animals and also enjoyed camping and boating.

Survivors include a son, Tristan Fiske and a daughter, Ceilidh Fiske both of Cave Junction, Oregon; his parents, Ron & Myrna Fiske of Grants Pass, Oregon; three siblings, Mike, Janelle, and Steven; and numerous extended family members.
