Cody Dennis Anderson

September 5, 1993 — July 13, 2020

Cody Dennis Anderson, age 26, of Medford, Oregon, started his eternal life with Jesus Christ on Monday, July 13th, 2020, due to a logging accident in Josephine County. He has lived in Medford off and on for 18 years and has also lived on the Oregon coast in Lakeside. Born in Medford, Oregon, on September 5, 1993, he attended grade school at Griffin Creek Elementary and was homeschooled by his mother for two years. He loved to visit the Bear Creek Skate Park with his Grandpa Dennis. He moved with his family to Lakeside when he was twelve. Cody went to Kingsview Christian School and graduated from North Bend High School in 2012. He played baseball from t-ball through high school. Cody was a standout left-handed pitcher with numerous strikeouts, all-league, and all-state honors. He was proud to be a member of the North Bend High School and North Coos Legion baseball teams. He also played football for the Bulldogs for two years. In high school, Cody discovered he had exceptional skills in welding and won local college competitions.
Cody enjoyed spending quality time with his friends Jimmie Flore, Ryan Melton, Riley Dodd, Zach Hackney, Jared Hackney, Robert Geiser-Hackney, Andy Zoll, Dalton Iveans, Chris McCloskey, Nikki Harden(Bishop), Steven Bishop, Devon Weiser, Clint Burris, Timmy Young, Nick Cole, Hayden Davisson, Shaun Fletcher, Joel Traylor, Josh Gimlin, Jacob Berry, Brogan Davis, and Rick Lawrence. He had a special bond with his cousin Nic Harlow and brother Brylee Anderson. Cody's hobbies included hunting, fishing, riding in the dunes, baseball, trucks, and welding.
He briefly attended college for fire science and volunteered for the Lakeside Fire Department. In the summers, Cody would help his dad run Dunefest in Winchester Bay. He loved operating the CAT, moving sand, and pulling people in and out of the sand. Cody held various jobs over the years: North Bend and Medford Les Schwab Tire, Food4Less, Sportsman's Warehouse, Samson Creek Outfitters, Farwest Tire, Willie Boats, and Brothers Construction and Excavation. He was inspired to start his own hunting guide business called Black Valley Outfitters. Giving him the opportunity to share his excitement and passion for hunting and just being in the woods with others. Cody acquired valuable knowledge and skills from these jobs from operating heavy equipment, fine tuning his dedication to a superb work ethic, and learning the woods like the back of his hand.
Cody met the love of his life, Preslee Blair Sacket, in September of 2017. They were engaged and had planned for a future together with a house and kids. They enjoyed riding in the woods together with their black lab Timber by their side. Cody loved being a logger! He was employed by Estremado Logging as a choker setter, rigging slinger, landing chaser, and operator. Being outdoors in the woods was his favorite place to be.
Cody's parents, Clark and Brenda Anderson, would like to thank the following people for influencing and inspiring their son. Also for being positive role models to him and giving support when he needed it.
