Clyde Little Jr.

Clyde Little, Jr., age 89, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at his home.

No services are planned. Southern Oregon Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.

Clyde was born on June 18, 1924 in Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri to Lawrence Clyde & Vena Little. Clyde attended school in Carl Junction, outside Joplin. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Coast Guard to aide in the war effort. He married Ethel Felker from Joplin on May 14, 1945. He served in the Coast Guard during World War II as a radio operator serving on Amchitka Island. He had a very successful career in the FAA, living in Wyoming, Hawai’i, Guam, Montana, Arizona, Oklahoma, Washington and Missouri. His last position was in Garden City, Kansas as the flight service chief of the airport. After retirement, the family moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where he built his house and sold real estate. After his second retirement he ran the ham radio Noon Time Net for 20 years as AA7WC.

He was a member of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Montana in Whitehall, Montana.

He is survived by daughters Dee Marks (Dave), Nila Lowry (Ed) of Grants Pass and son Larry Little (Helen) of Seattle; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sisters June, Barbara, Nellie.

His parents, his wife Ethel, two sisters and a granddaughter preceded him in death.
