Clarence Lee Boucher Jr “Tuffy” “Tuff”, age 90, of Wolf Creek, died Monday, November 12, 2012 at his home on Bear Gulch.

A memorial graveside service will be at 12 noon, Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the family cemetery on Bear Gulch. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Tuffy was born September 18, 1922 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Ada & Clarence Boucher, the youngest of six children. On May 31, 1945 Tuffy married his high school sweetheart, Valeda Alvina Scheer, who preceded him death after 54 wonderful years of marriage. During World War II he served in the United States Army in the 508th parachute infantry regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division. He was one of over 13,000 paratroopers from the 82nd and 101st divisions that parachuted behind enemy lines during operation Neptune commencing at 2:15 a.m., June 6, 1944 (Normandy Invasion). This was the first U.S. combat operation for Overlord. He assisted in blocking the enemy approach into Utah Beach and establishing a crossing over the Douve River. He also fought in the Ardennes Offensive (Battle of the Bulge) which was the last major German offensive. After his military service he worked at McClellan Air Force Base for nine years. In 1969 the family put a down payment on 80 acres around Wolf Creek, Oregon where they moved to in ’74 after he retired.

Tuffy’s life revolved around his beloved wife and children.

Tuffy is survived by a sister, Mildred Mitchell of Salem, Oregon; three sons - twins, Gary and Larry Boucher and Joe Boucher all of Wolf Creek; a daughter, Judith Boucher Oliver of Wolf Creek; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members who called him, “Grandpa.”

Tuffy will be dearly missed by his family.
