Cheri Ann Stokes

April 21, 1970 — March 5, 2018

Cheri Ann Stokes, 47, died March 5, 2018 at home in Grants Pass, OR from natural unknown causes.
Cheri was born April 21, 1970, in San Fernando Valley, CA to Russell and Cheryl (Smith) Stokes.
She grew up in Grants Pass, OR and lived most of her life there (with two short moves back to California during her life). She attended Grants Pass High School, class of 1988. She was a career bartender and waitress; meeting lots of her friends and loved ones through work. She loved to go to the beach anytime she could sneak away. She lived her life loving and spoiling her friends and family – and family extended beyond blood. She was a die-hard Packers fan who loved to shop and go out to eat. She loved babies, and her granddaughters, nieces and nephew were the light of her life.
She is survived by her daughters and granddaughters, Jimi Stokes of Medford, OR and her children, Paralyhn and baby Alister due in August, and Cassandra Hamlin of Cave Junction, OR and her children, Kyleigh, Karma and Kenzie; her siblings and their spouses, Tanya and Sean Haddock of Citrus Heights, CA, Deborah and Ryan Logan of Cameron Park, CA, Adam Stokes of Grants Pass, OR and Travis and Krista Newberry of Carmichael, CA; her nieces and nephew, Emeryl, Lucille, Abigail, Nathan and Esther Logan of Cameron Park, CA; many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her fianc, Paul Travers; her parents, Russell and Cheryl Stokes, all of her grandparents, great-grandparents, her dear friends Harry and Inge Miller, and numerous others.
Funeral services will be held at 12pm on March 28th, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 747 NE Savage Street, Grants Pass, OR. Per Cheri’s request, it will be a closed casket with no viewing, and she wanted everyone who felt comfortable doing so, to wear purple.
We are so grateful to all of our family and friends (several who sacrificed even coming to be able to donate) who helped with Cheri’s funeral costs, as well as the outpouring of prayers, love and kindness to our family during this difficult time.
