Charles M Newsom

Charles M. Newsom, age 82, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

Private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

He was born May 21, 1925 in Shamrock, Texas to Herman & Nola Newsom. From 1942 to 1946 during World War II he served in the United States Navy. On April 16, 1949 in Vancouver, Washington he married Maxine Oden. In 1969 he moved from Washington to Grants Pass. He was a watchmaker.

He loved working with wood, gardening and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Maxine Newsom of Grants Pass; he is survived by two daughters, Cathy DeSolminihac of Santa Maria, California and Terri Newsom of Grants Pass; a son, Kip Newsom of Beaverton; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
