Charles Edward Prince

June 29, 1926 — September 13, 2007

Charles “Chuck” Prince, age 81, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Bill Donaldson officiating. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

He was born June 29, 1926 in Porterville, California to Charles & Lola Prince. He grew up and attended schools in Porterville and graduated from Porterville High School in 1943. From 1943 to 1946 he served in the United States Navy. On July 3, 1946 in Fairfield, California he married Juanita Nadine “Nita” Vincent and together they moved from Fairfield to Grants Pass. In 1947 he started working for Tidewater Oil Company – and in 1967 purchased the business making it Prince Oil Company until his retirement in 1987.

For many years he attended First Assembly of God Church in Grants Pass and currently was attending the Foursquare Church in Rogue River. He was also a member of the Grants Pass Golf Club.

His hobbies included golfing, fishing, traveling, singing in the choir, playing the trumpet and string bass, and directing the church orchestra and choir.

In addition to his wife, Nita Prince of Grants Pass; he is survived a son, David Prince of Grants Pass; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda West in 1988 and a sister, Florence Beard in 1999.
